Car Electronics Install In My Own Ford F-150

Hey guys, Gatlin here from Carphonix.

Today we’re working on a 2016 Ford F-150 XLT. But not just any Ford F-150. We’re working on MY Ford F-150.
What are we doing with it?

It’s a base model truck with the plain old 3 inch factory screen inside, and it’s time to give this bad boy an upgrade. I’ve been spending so much time upgrading everyone else’s car electronics that I haven’t had time to upgrade my own!

We’re dealing with a new product from Axxess Interface, the AX-DSP digital signal processor. We’re installing it alongside a plug-n-play harness.

Check out the video below, and we’ll walk you through the install.

Contact Carphonix Car Electronics

1970 Ford Mustang Mach I - Gateway Classic Cars of Atlanta #196

Also check out to see more about car audio and electronics enhancements -http://bit.ly/2iNzHL7-#TW

1970 Ford Mustang Mach I - Gateway Classic Cars of Atlanta #196
The Atlanta Showroom is offering this 1970 Ford Mach 1. The Mach 1 package was only available in the 'SportsRoof' body style (previously known as the 'Fastback'); never on the hardtop or convertible. Many resto-mod visual conversions have since been performed by owners and enthusiasts, but are not Mach 1's by VIN code. The Mach 1 started with a V8 powered 'Sportsroof' body and added numerous visual and performance enhancing items such as matte black hood treatment with hood pins, hood scoop (including optional Shaker scoop), competition suspension, chrome pop-open gas cap, revised wheels with Goodyear Polyglas tires, chrome exhaust tips (except 351W 2V), deluxe interior, livery and dealer optional chin spoiler, rear deck spoiler, and rear window louvers (SportSlats). Mach 1s came with upgraded suspension to varying degrees dependent upon powertrain choices. Big block cars had front shock tower reinforcement, thicker sway bars (no rear bar for 69), and heavier springs and shocks. 428 CJ/SCJ 4 speed cars also came with staggered rear shocks. Standard on Mach 1s was a fierce but cosmetic hood scoop that had integrated turn-signal lights mounted in the back. A more functional option was the signature "Shaker hood", an air scoop mounted directly to the top of the motor, used to collect fresh air and so named for its tendency to "shake" above the rumbling V-8 below. The interior came complete with teak wood grain details, full sound deadening material and high-back sport bucket seats. Ford kept the Mach 1 alive into 1970 and little changed other than the visuals. The 1970 body included dual-beam headlights with the previous inner headlights becoming sport lamps and recessed taillights on a black honeycomb rear panel, side scoops behind both doors removed, revised bucket seats, deep dish sports wheel covers, as well as new side and rear badging and striping were the main visual differences. 1970 saw the previous 351W V8 engine options replaced with a new 351 cu in (5.8 L) Cleveland (351C) V8 in either 2V (for use with 2-venturi carbs) or 4V (for use with 4-venturi carbs) versions. The 351C 4V (M code) engine featured 11.0:1 compression and produced 300 bhp (224 kW; 304 PS) at 5400 rpm. This new performance engine incorporated elements learned from the Ford 385 series engine and the Boss 302, particularly the poly-angle combustion chambers with canted valves and the thin-wall casting technol ogy. Options include: Power Steering, Rally Wheels, Vinyl interior, radial tires. To view the car in greater detail, including 100+ HD photos and HD video, please visit www.gatewayclassiccars.com. The World’s Most Cost Effective Remote Car Starter

What’s happening party people, it’s your pal Gatlin here from Carphonix, your favourite car audio shop.

Today we’re talking about remote car starters. But not just any remote starters – we’re talking about the world’s most cost effective remote starter out there.

What are we working on today? This slick 2014 Dodge Challenger. We’ll be using a Fortin harness, which allows us to “plug and play”, or at least as much as we can with something like this. There’s still some finagling to do, but overall it’s a pretty simple process.

The best part? We can use the factory fob, so you don’t need to worry about another fob bulking up your keys.
Anyway, check out the whole video below.

Got a whip that needs a remote car starter installed? Do you have a car electronics upgrade you’re hoping to get done soon? If so, contact Carphonix today. We’re always happy to chat about car audio, car electronics, or any other ideas you have for your ride.

LIVE Q&A With Craig From Bonsai Rides

What is up my people, it’s your old pal Gatlin here from Carphonix, and we are live!

Well not now, but we were when we made this video. This was a live video we did with Craig from Bonsai Rides. Craig imports JDM (Japanese Domestic Market) rides for people here in Canada. He takes us on a tour of the automobile stereo installation in this Nissan X-Trail, which is pretty old school and has some cool stuff in it you don't see much of these days, including a built in drink cooler!

This specific model is available only in Canada and Japan, so if you’re one of our American or European followers you probably have never seen one of these before.

Craig answers some of your questions about this vehicle, about JDM imports in general, what it takes to insure a JDM vehicle, and more. Check it out below:

Oh, and if you want to get in touch with Craig to find out more about JDM imports or about his business, check him out at bonsairides.com.

1936 Chevrolet Coupe, Gatewayclassic cars Nashville, #573

For sale in our Nashville showroom is a 1936 Chevrolet coupe. This 1936 Chevrolet coupe for sale is all steel except for the running boards but hey, this car is the real deal steel. Covering the curvy exterior of this classic is Viper red paint topped with clear and looking like a thousand dollar bill. They had those back in 1936, can you imagine walking into a restaurant and asking, hey, got change for a thousand? Ok, I got a little off track there. This 1936 Coupe for sale has all the look of old school and a lot of the tricks of the new millennia. The best of both times. We all know that most of today's cars lack style but hey, they run good and get great fuel mileage and have a very long life. This car takes the best of these and puts them together, take the suspension for instance, coil springs up front with power rack and pinion steering and front power dis c brakes. In the back, leaf springs holding what I believe to be a 12 bolt Chevrolet rear axle that houses a set of 3.08 rear gears. Ok, I can hear some of you saying what about magnetic fluid hyper drive self-levitating coil overs and carbon fiber impregnated Kevlar rotors that are cross slotted drilled and smothered? (ok that last one might be from waffle house) Under the hood sets at the ready the engine voted most popular by a vast majority of shade tree mechanics that are looking to squeeze a lot of power out of a small block and do so with limited dollars, the Chevrolet small block 350 or Mighty Mouse as they have been known to be called. This one has a thumpy cam, an Edlebrock intake and carburetor, an H.E.I. distributor to supply the juice and block hugger headers to wisk away the exhaust fumes. In short, a lot of power that will last a long time and not drain your wallet at the gas station. Backing this Potent combination is a 700r4 4 speed automatic transmission to make cruising down the highway as easy as 2,000 RPMs. So, take all this then add air conditioning, power steering and a tilt steering wheel and then slide a smooth clean all steel 1936 Chevrolet coupe body over it. Perfection! Options for this 1936 Chevrolet for sale include: Air conditioning, Power steering and brakes, Cragar rims, tilt and telescopic steering column topped with a wooden Grant steering wheel, and Radial tires. For more information, please call our Nashville showroom at 615-213-1800 or send us an email at nashville@gatewayclassiccars.com

1968 Chevrolet Corvette - Louisville Showroom - Stock # 1615

Also check out to see more about car audio and electronics enhancements -http://bit.ly/2iNpA96-#FB

1968 Chevrolet Corvette - Louisville Showroom - Stock # 1615
The 1968 Corvette was the second major redesign since its original conception. The C3 would become the longest running style in Corvettes history lasting a total of 14 years. This 68 is a fitting example of why the C3 took the streets by storm. Painted in the iconic red this is what most people think of when you say Corvette. The white vinyl top looks great but tucked away under the rear hatch is where this belongs. The look with the t op-down is where this beauty shines. The chrome bumpers are in excellent condition and give the car that vintage look. A set of rally wheels with radial tires keep with the all original look as it should with the title branded as actual mileage. Under the hood is a period correct 350 that runs amazingly well. The TH400 shifts out great with no hesitation and a smooth shift from 2nd to the 3rd. The interior has been done in red with the bucket seats being freshly covered and look amazing. If you have been wanting to get your hand on an iconic first year C3 that drives as good as it looks this one is a great candidate. Options on this 1968 Chevrolet Corvette convertible include, Power Steering, Power Brakes, Manual Convertible top, Seat Belts, Vinyl Interior and Radial Tires. This 1968 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible can be seen, including an HD video, at www.gatewayclassiccars.com, call at 812-294-1555 or email Louisville@gatewayclassiccars.com for more information.Want to connect wit h us? A New Stereo In A Harley, A Backup Cam In A Porsche, And More!

A New Stereo In A Harley, A Backup Cam In A Porsche, And More! | Harley's Dashboard | Carphonix car audio video alarms electronics accessories remote starters installation repair London Ontario

G’day my internet people, Gatlin here once again from Carphonix.

AND LET ME TELL YOU

We’re working on some pretty sick stuff today, including a backup cam car electronics installation.

First off, I scare the hell out of Damien, the man with nerves of steel. I’ve been trying for years, and I finally got him! Hah!

Now on to the installs.

We did some work on a 2013 Harley Davidson, including a pair of Kicker PS692’s. Keep watching and you’ll get a nice little demo from NCS, a record label that won’t harass me for copyright infringement if I play more than 5 seconds of their music. The first tune is called A World Away by Inukshuk, and the next is Lost by Kontinuum Feat. Savoi. I know you don’t get the full experience through my camera, but trust me, this thing is LOUD

Next, we’ve got an “I thought I could do it myself job”. The owner of this truck thought he could install his deck on his own, but he wasn’t able to. He showed up with all the guts hanging out, and we finished it up. Standard stuff.

BUT

We’re also working on a 2017 Porsche Macan S, a very sexy car. I can’t believe it didn’t come with a back-up camera considering how much you pay for one of these things, but it didn’t. So the owner came to us.

The Shop Is In A ZONE!

The Shop Is In A ZONE! | Hand pushing a touchpad dashboard | Carphonix car audio video alarms electronics accessories remote starters installation repair London Ontario

Hey everyone, Gatlin here from Carphonix, and today the shop is in a ZONE!

A commercial zone? Well yeah, but that’s not what I mean.

A DANGER ZONE? Sort of.

I mean we’re in a DISASTER ZONE.

After a long day’s work, this shop sure does get messy. If you want to skip my rambling, skip forward to about 4:15.

As for the installs, Craig arrived today with a BMW M Coupe. Pretty slick car you don’t see every day. I think they’re only available in the US so you don’t see them in Canada too often. After some finagling, I convinced him to let me take it for a little ride while he takes over camera duties. You’ll get a little tour of the neighbourhood while we shoot the shit.

Jared stops by too to show us his new install, which looks slick and sounds great too. You’ll get a little demo of that.

We’re going to pull the radio out of it and replace it with a new car sound system installation.

Overall there are all sorts of odds and ends in today’s video. Check it out!

Crime Guard Car Alarm Installation In A Chevy Silverado

Crime Guard Car Alarm Installation In A Chevy Silverado | Detail of Silverado | Carphonix car audio video alarms electronics accessories remote starters installation repair London Ontario

Howdy everyone, Gatlin here from Carphonix.

Today we’ll be working on an alarm system in a Chevy Silverado. Here in Ontario, these trucks are heavily stolen. They’re a prime target, I’m not sure why, but they are. This particular one belongs to a good buddy of mine, and he’s actually had it stolen once before.

Naturally he wasn’t too happy about that, so he brought it to us.

We’ll be doing a Crime Guard 550 i6 car security alarm installation in this truck. You’ve seen me install these bad boys before, but in case you’re new to the channel I’ll take you through the process anyway.

You’ll get an insider’s look into some of the tricks involved in how to best install a car alarm in a truck, and how to deter people from wanting to steal it in the first place.

You’ll also get a quick look at 1PUGLIFE’s rig. It’s taking up a ton of room in here, so you can’t help but see it!

Watch the video below.

Good morning internet friends! Gatlin here from Carphonix.

Today we welcome a new member of the family! That’s right, Damian got himself a new truck. It’s a 2005 F-350 – and in pretty good shape considering. We’ll do a quick tour of it. It’s so fresh it’s still got a dealer tag on it! Makes my truck look teeny tiny.

As for the actual install today, we’re going to install a full car system installation – a Kenwood navigation unit, backup camera, steering wheel controls, and of course, we’re replacing all the stock speakers.

We’ll walk you through the entire process, as always.

Good morning everyone, your old pal Gatlin here from Carphonix.

What’s going on today? Well, we’ve got a car LED lighting installation, so we’ll walk you through the process of that.

We’re putting some lumens in this vehicle – a 2012 Nissan Altima. You’ll get a story about how LED technology has improved over the years, including the modern cooling systems which make these lights more efficient.

If you’ve never installed a set of lights before, you might be surprised at how much work goes into it and how many steps are involved.

Finally, you’ll see the process of cleaning the headlights – we polish the crap out of this bad boy! At the end, you’ll see just how shiny and clear a set of headlights can be. At the end, you’ll see a before and after of a cleaned light vs. a dirty one – it makes a big difference!

Audio And LED Lights Upgrade On a Semi Truck! | (Description of Image) | Carphonix car audio video alarms electronics accessories remote starters installation repair London Ontario

How's it goin everyone, Gatlin from Carphonix. Thanks for watching!

Did you know we do semis? Yeah we do semis!

Today we've got something a little different - a Kenworth T800 semi. We're installing a new set of lights in it and giving it a truck audio systems installation for a major boost in sound.

You'll see the difference between the old incandescent bulb they have and the LED lights - it makes a huge difference. I'll show ya the equipment we use to hook it all up, and what the finished install looks like.

Truckers spend a lot of time in their trucks, so a lot of 'em like to have a nice car stereo in there to listen to music or audio books or whatever they like to hear on those long trips. We give this truck's stereo a major kick in the ass and it sounds great.

Yeah I know it's got nothing to do with car audio or remote car starter installations like we usually talk about, but hey I don't have to always sell ya on the work we do do I? Sometimes I can just give ya a useful tip to use at home, can't I?

Anyway this was useful for me to learn this stuff, so hopefully it helps you too.

I used the 3M Headlight Restoration System which you can grab from Carquest, or Crappy Tire, or pretty much anywhere - it's about 30 bucks and comes with just about everything you need.

Other than that, all you need is a spray bottle full of soapy water, a drill, and some tape to protect the paint around the edge of your lights.

Check it out below:

Equipment Used:

- 3M Headlight Restoration System (about $30)
- A drill
- Some masking tape
- A spray bottle full of soapy water

A Whole Bunch Of Car Installations: An Austin Mini, A Mitsubishi Lancer, A Dodge Ram, And More

A Whole Bunch Of Car Installations: An Austin Mini, A Mitsubishi Lancer, A Dodge Ram, And More | Photograph of a RAM truck | Carphonix car audio video alarms electronics accessories remote starters installation repair London Ontario

Good morning my internet people! Your pal Gatlin here from Carphonix.

Here's what we've got going on in the world of car installations - a Dodge Ram, an Austin Mini, and a 2015 Mitsubishi Lancer. So check it out.

The Lancer's got some decent equipment in it - a Pioneer 800 watt amp, a pair of JBL 10 inch woofers, but it’s got what we call a buddy install. That means the owner’s buddy installed his stuff but he didn't know what the hell he was doing so all this great equipment didn't sound as good as it should. Check out the nightmare we find under the hood!

The Mini is so sick, it came from England to Japan then Canada, so it's been everywhere. The guys are diving into it to convert it from right hand drive to left hand drive. Hint: there's tons of stuff we need to tear out.

As for the Ram, we're installing a backup camera in that bad boy. Check it all out below:

How To Pick Up Canadian Radio Stations On A Japanese Car

How To Pick Up Canadian Radio Stations On A Japanese Car | Radio on dashboard | Carphonix car audio video alarms electronics accessories remote starters installation repair London Ontario

Good morning y'all, it's Gatlin from Carphonix, and I still hate the snow. This video was from the middle of March and I'm glad the weather's better now.

Anyway I wanted to show ya something cool today to do with car radios. We're going to head upstairs today, which ya don't get to see too often so watch carefully! I'll show you some speaker adapter plugs and tell you why they're so important for your install. Newbies don't think of this and it can cause a lot of problems especially if you want to sell your car later on. You can save yourself a boatload of money and time knowing this stuff!

Then I'll show you how to install an "FM Transmitter Thing".

What's that? Well when you import a Japanese car, I guess their radio stations work differently than they do here, so you can't pick up Canadian radio stations. The FM Transmitter Thing lets you get Canadian signals in a Japanese radio.

Check out this video to see how it works:

Back From Vacation! Car Audio Installs On A Ford Fusion And A Toyota Scion | Dashboard Details | Carphonix car audio video alarms electronics accessories remote starters installation repair London Ontario

Hey everyone, it's Gatlin from Carphonix. Feelin' good after making this video. I just got back from the Dominican, tanned and refreshed and ready to get back at 'er.

We've got a couple of projects in this video. First a car sound installation on a Ford Fusion - a new set of speakers. Then we're going to upgrade a Toyota Scion with a new stereo. I'll show you the entire process of pulling out his old deck and installing a new one.

Buddy with the Fusion has been coming to see us for a while - he bought a lot of his stuff back when our shop was in Ingersoll.

At the end I'm going to include a few photos of Ashly and I in the Dominican just to make y'all jealous a bit!

Car System Installations: CB Radio On A Jeep And More

Car System Installations: CB Radio On A Jeep And More | Closeup of CB radion on a car | Carphonix car audio video alarms electronics accessories remote starters installation repair London OntarioHey guys, Gatlin here from Carphonix, and today we're working on a bunch of different car system installations.

First off we've got a Jeep that we're installing a CB radio in. We don't do a whole lot of CB installs because it's not as popular as heated seats and car audio, but they're still fun. We'll show you the installation, co-starring your friendly neighbourhood installer Damien.

You guys also requested some videos other than car audio stuff, so I wanted to show you some of the other work we do. We don't do mechanical work - that's not our business (though I do some of my own mechanical work on my vehicles) but we do a lot more than just car audio. I'll show you more about what we can do.

We're also going to peer into a Delica that came in recently. It's not my Delica, but someone else's. We'll take a look at how they engineered these things (they put way more into it than I think they needed) and show you what we're doing.

Anyway, check it out below.

Cheap Car Alarm Security Systems And Electronics Gear Is Garbage! Here’s Why

Hey y'all, Gatlin from Carphonix here. Have you ever bought anything off of Ebay because it was cheap, and then when it got to your house you realized it was only cheap because it sucked?

That happens with car electronics gear A LOT. Whether you’re buying car audio equipment, a car alarm security system, a remote car starter, or any other piece of car electronic equipment, it doesn’t matter. You get what you pay for.

Check out this video to find out why.

This Altima came into the shop back in July 2013. Buddy bought a $200 deck from China because it seemed like a great deal. And if the thing worked, it would have been.

But check it out. First off, the deck doesn’t fit into the dash properly, so the CD deck wouldn’t even open. They’re made for Chinese cars sold in China and don’t fit Canadian dashes.

The music also cuts out when you use the dash cam, which is kind of weird. And the camera is pretty low quality so you might have trouble seeing the stuff you don’t want to hit.

Talk To A Car Electronics Expert

If you’re going to go to all the trouble of installing new equipment into your car, why not make sure it’s actually good quality stuff that works properly? These days you get what you pay for when it comes to this stuff.

You’re going to have to bring your car to us anyway once you realize the gear sucks and it doesn’t work properly. So why not save yourself the trouble and the money and come talk to us first?

Give us a shout at 519-686-5555 and let’s talk! You can also stop by the shop.

In-Car Computer Video Installation In A 2008 Honda Civic SI

Hi folks, Gatlin from Carphonix here. It’s time for something a little old school!

Back in November 2013, I installed a set of halo lights into this 2008 Honda Civic SI. Pretty standard stuff.

What was cool about this install, though, is that the car’s owner was a computer genius. He had an in-car computer system installed right in his dash.

I know it’s not as surprising to see in 2017, but when he showed me this I was floored. It had some pretty cool features, like a performance monitor to measure acceleration, power, and torque, fuel consumption, engine temperatures, and a whole lot more. It’s also got a car video player built into the OS.

His install is a little sloppy, but I’ve seen a whole lot worse! It’s still a damn cool piece of equipment for the time, and even today.

Custom In-Car Electronics Installation On A 2003 Corvette

Hi everyone, Gatlin here from Carphonix.

If you’ve watched my other videos recently, you may have seen a pretty sexy Corvette sitting in the background. I’ve been working on this one for a while and we’ve done some pretty cool stuff to it.

It’s a 2003 owned by a good friend of mine who inherited it from his dad after he passed away. We added some killer new custom in-car electronics installed in this bad boy. It looks pretty dusty right now but when it’s clean it’s damn sexy.

We added a new 240 amp alternator to the engine. We also upgraded all the power cabling going from the alternator to the battery.

The battery, meanwhile, was replaced with a Shuriken power cell, and added all sorts of nice little details to make sure the entire electronics system works as efficiently as possible. You’ll see more about it in the video.

You’ll also see a custom dash kit installed, some new speakers, and a whole lot more. Just watch the video and you’ll see!

Do you have a Corvette you want to get upgraded? Maybe not, but we can work with any vehicle, from a mini to an 18-wheeler and everything in between.

Give us a shout and tell us what you’re looking for. We’ll lay out a plan that can work with any budget.

Thanks for watching, and don’t forget to subscribe to our channel if you liked this. Until next time!

Factory Car Stereo Installation or Professional Installation? Can You Tell?

Was your car stereo installation factory installed?

Does it look like it’s factory installed?

What can an installer do to make it look as factory as possible?

These are the questions we’ll be answering in today’s video.

Here at Carphonix, we have an arrangement with a Volkswagen dealership in the city to install Bluetooth technology into their vehicles. Their factory installs have Bluetooth, but the steering wheel volume control doesn’t work on them, so they came to us.

In this video, I’ll walk you through the process of installing a car stereo with Bluetooth in a way that allows you to retain the steering wheel controls.

Here are the products used in this video:

• Axxess ASWC-1 Steering Wheel Control Adapter
• Axxess XSVI-9003-NAV Interface Harness
• Metra 40-EU56 European Antenna Adapter (FAKRA)
• Metra dash kit
• Kenwood Excelon DPX792BH Receiver

We’ll take a look at the installation process, and show you a few tricks of the trade we use to make sure your car electronics installations are as high quality as possible. This gives you a longer lasting, more reliable install, eliminates any rattling, and most importantly, sounds amazing.

Do you have a Volkswagen or other vehicle with a stereo you’d like to upgrade? Give us a shout and let’s talk audio.

Installing and Using a 5 Speed Remote Car Starter on a 2012 Hyundai Tucson

Hey guys, this is a video I put together to show you how a remote car starter installation works on a 2012 Hyundai Tucson.

This is a five speed vehicle, so it’s a little different than automatic transmission vehicles. There’s a sequence you’ll need to go through to make sure you can start your car the next morning on a cold day. I’ll show you the sequence in this video.

Oh, and if you’ve heard the myth that your car will roll away on you if you get a remote starter installed, don’t worry! That only happens if your remote car starter was installed incorrectly. Here at Carphonix we’ve been installing remote starters for more than a decade, so you can rest assured that your car will only roll away when you put your foot on the pedal.

The remote starter we used in the video is the Crimeguard 830i7 from Omega. To find out more about remote car starters and what the best option is for your vehicle, contact Carphonix today at 519-686-5555, or just stop by the shop at 663 Wellington Rd #3, London Ontario, N6C 4R4
